Hi friends,
It’s been a little while! Spring quarter started last week, and I’m still working (remotely) at LADOT, so I’m weirdly kind of busy. Today I read a book about sea level rise, which was interesting but not ideal for my overall level of existential dread.
I also saw some friends today, both (distantly) in person and over video. I have the in person visiting system down (I sit inside my living room while a friend sits in the exterior apartment walkway, 10+ feet away), and I’m lucky to have buddies in my neighborhood who can walk over to hang out.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how long we might be in quarantine, but it seems pretty difficult to predict at this point. That said, don’t we need to wait until we have a vaccine to break quarantine? And that’s maybe 12-18 months away (or more)? Or is there some other scenario where we don’t have a vaccine yet but it’s safe to go outside? These are real questions, very interested in reading anything reliable you’ve encountered on the topic.
Now that I’ve updated you on my latest stress spiral, please feel free to respond to this email and let me know what you’ve been up to. If you’re reading this, I would love to hear from you. Please include photos of your children and/or pets and/or sourdough starter.
